Guys! How cute are these?! I had the idea for them one day while strolling the aisles of Michael’s (inspiring… I know 😉 ). Michael’s is also where I found these great cupcake liners. I looked all through the store for little spider sprinkles, but couldn’t find any. I think they’d add such a cute touch! These would be perfect for a halloween party… They are yummy, too.
I used a vanilla cupcake recipe (use your favorite cupcake recipe) and this pumpkin spice frosting recipe. Add orange food coloring for more of a pop of orange in either the frosting or the cake, if you’d like. For the webs, I melted white chocolate and used a piping bag and a small piping tip to pipe webs out on parchment paper. I stuck them in the freezer for a few minutes to let them harden, and then stuck them on top of each frosted cupcake. It is that simple! One thing to note is that the white chocolate loses it’s form if you leave the cupcakes out at room temp for too long, especially if it is a hot day. They began to sag and take the form of the top of the cupcake after about an hour of sitting out. I’m not sure if there is way to avoid this, if you know of one please let me know!
I hope you enjoyed the first of many fun Halloween inspired posts! Let me know down below what else you want to see this month.
