If you’ve ever been to Yellowstone, you know exactly how beautiful hot springs can be. Yellowstone is definitely one of my top favorite national parks so I was so excited when the woman who sold us the cutest cheetah espadrilles told us to venture off the beaten path to find these! My Kia Optima did some off roading, which is new to the both of us… lol! But, it was well worth it! You couldn’t walk right up to the hot springs, because they are scalding temps. But, there were a few mini ones that we were able to touch along the river… and boy were they hot!! We compared them to the boiling water you’d steep tea in haha! How awesome that the heat from these is created from the inner earth? I find that fascinating. The coolest thing was that the cold water river flowed right through the hot springs. I wondered how the fish swimming through weren’t burned! The snow topped mountains in the background and the fisherman that lined the river were the extra touches that made the scene just dream-like. Next time you’re in Mammoth I recommend stopping at the Hot Creeks Geological Site, you won’t regret it!
