Hey guys! On May 25th, Shaun and I left for Colorado. We were going to fly, but ended up driving because I was sick with an ear infection and my doctor advised me not to fly. I love road trips and am not too particularly fond of flying so I wasn’t complaining!! lol. Well, this post is jam packed with photos so I am going to try to keep this blurb short and sweet. We stopped the first night in vegas but didn’t do anything too exciting since we knew of the long drive ahead of us the next morning. We then woke early the next morning and spent 12+ hours in the car until we finally made it to Denver! We stayed in the Sheraton in Downtown Denver, I recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel in the area. It has the most perfect location downtown. It was walking distance from almost everything… the mall, food, starbucks, the stadium… the list goes on. Plus, it was so clean, the rooms were nice and the service was incredible! The first morning in Denver the news warned us of golf ball sized hail, which is definitely something us Californians are not used to, but we didn’t end up getting any. The third day we toured the Coors factory. It was really cool to see how the beer was made! If you are 21+, you even get three full size samples of the beers they brew (for FREE… I was amazed at how generous they were haha!) The next day, we wanted to tour the Olympic Training Center, but because of possible lightening all tours were closed. So, we visited the Cheyanne Mountain Zoo. It has beautiful views and a lot of cool animals. It was so cold when we were up there, so a lot of animals were inside. We wanted to see the giraffes but the stench inside of their home literally burnt your nostrils… no thank you! The fourth day was my favorite! We went up to Estes Park and then to The Rocky Mountain National Park!! I was so happy to go to another National Park, it is on my bucket list to visit all of the national parks. Boy, was it breathtaking! We got to hike, saw so many moose, deer and elk, and at the top the snowpack was so tall! And of course, Shaun had to squeeze in his Giant’s games! We saw them play twice against the Rockies, but only saw one win 🙁 . Before the last game we ate at Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar…THE BEST burger ever. Oh my gosh you guys, find a location and go now!! The day before we headed home, we stayed in Vail… we were so disappointed we couldn’t stay longer. We definitely want to go back to Vail again one day! On our last day, we stayed in Vegas again and were able to squeeze in some gambling but walked out of the casino in the negatives… ugh! Overall, this trip was SO much fun and I am so sad that it’s over (especially because I’m sick again). We can’t wait to be back in Colorado! Let us know in the comments some of your favorite things to do in Colorado, I would love to hear them. Thanks to everyone for following along during our trip on Instagram!
