Shaun and I visited San Diego this holiday weekend to celebrate his twenty first birthday, and it was so much fun! Of course, we enjoyed the beautiful weather that is always expected from San Diego. It stayed between 60 and 70 degrees all three days. Besides the awesome weather, one can always expect great food as well. We ate at some yummy places, including Caroline’s Seaside Cafe and The Crab Catcher. Both sat practically on the shoreline and had spectacular views, not to mention food that will definitely make your taste buds do a little dance.
After our breakfast, we had the chance to walk around USD and wow, the campus is gorgeous. Caroline’s Seaside Cafe is neighboring the Oceanography building of the campus which is snuggled right against the shoreline. The vegetation covering both the campus and the seaside was bright and eye catching.
We also did some shopping upon our arrival to San Diego. Shaun made a bee-line to the Adidas outlet, anyone who knows him would have guessed this! I found some awesome workout tights with a subtle monochrome print, and Shaun grabbed a few sweatshirts, T-shirts and a hat in the same monochrome style. Along with the tights, I found a pair of super comfy pants at Banana Republic (I could not find a link to a website that does not have them sold out, but if you want to give it a try they are the “utility skinny”). I absolutely LOVE the fit of these pants, as well as the zipper detail at the ankles. They come in multiple neutral earthy tones, I got mine in the color “petrol blue”, a stone blue/grey.
The food at The Crab Catcher is immaculate. Shaun and I shared truffle fries before our entrées arrived. They were perfectly crispy and cheesy! I had the salmon plate and Shaun ordered crab stuffed fish, such goodness!
And, of course, there is always time for relaxing on vacation! Sipping while enjoying the view from our hotel room. Shaun went for the San Diego Brewed beer and I went for one yummy mimosa!
There are so many fun things to do in San Diego, you can find something for any occasion. Shaun and I are still in the process of crossing some things off of our to-do list! Check out my San Diego Pinterest Board!
